Nieuws is a Pop-Culture oriented eclectic mini mega store.
We sell gifts, defined as things so nice its really hard to give them away.
Giving is pretty personal.
A lot of stuff does not make it through our buying team. Yes, we know; bestsellers tend to sell well & we are totally wackoo not to carry some of them. But hey, if we don’t like it, we just don’t buy it.
This works pretty well for us. Nieuws is now kind of an Amsterdam classic. More then 20 years of one stop gift shopping on the Prinsengracht in the centre of Amsterdam.

We often write in English to reach our foreign friends & visitors, but
once in a while we switch to Dutch. (after all it is our g-g-g-greatly
appreciated native language, waarmee we kunnen lezen en schrijven)
